the photographer, the maker, the mother
Hey! I’m Colleen. I’m an photographer and fine artist , based in Southeast Michigan. I’m a homeschooling mother of two, a book worm, a DIYer, and a hardcore thrifter. I’ve been driven by creativity for as long as I can remember and am often inspired by music, books & movies. I really truly love what I do and am so grateful to be here helping you capture some tangible memories for years to come.

My goal is to capture life as it really is. I will absolutely be prompting you along the way, but this won't be a "everyone say cheese and look at the camera" photo session. My approach is much more like a documentary. I'll give you some loose direction and the goal is for you to put your own spin on it so that it feels natural. When it comes to families, please expect the best kind of chaos. Kids will be kids and their personalities is what I want to capture most. Let them run the show. I promise you won't regret the results.

I'm not a magician. If you're in love, it will SHOW. If one of you doesn't want to be there, it'll show. If you're looking for beautifully candid memories, I am absolutely your girl but all parties need to be willing and excited to share an hour or so of connection together! Your only job is to truly be yourselves. Be affectionate and be relaxed. Let yourselves embody softness, connection and love. Our time together will be as relaxed as you're willing to let it be!

art is from the soul, for the soul.

Almost all of my paintings are inspired by nature, music or movies. Florals and landscapes are what I like to spend most of my time on because they just fill me to the top with joy. I’m pretty terrible at naming paintings, so most of the time I name them whatever song I was listening to while painting. I work almost exclusively with oil and I love to pair my work with antique paintings. Most of the time, it doesn’t feel complete until it’s been framed. I’ve also received some feedback that it’s preferred that way, because once you receive your order, it’s ready to hang/place and you don’t have to go through the hassle of finding a frame. I paint almost every single day. Some of it will make its way to my shop, and some will stay with me. A few find their way to the trash can, but as long as I expel some creativity, I consider it a win. My goal is to sell work to every state in the U.S. so I’ve got a map that I’m slowly filling in as I sell to those states!
